Wonderful Liz! Thank you, I hadn’t noticed that aspect of the design. Brilliant. Aroha.

"Each time I make the bread, kneading it near the glaze my sister rendered a pale, sea-wash blue, I know, I am loved"

I wish for a world, where every single person experiences love in this way –through the things we use, read, touch, create... the love of the person making them, and the love inside us that calls us to create.

Beautiful writing, Kirstie, thank you. And that scarf is exquisite.

Thank you KIrstie. Such a marvellous meditation on aspects of love-giving, love-receiving. It made me think of commitment as part of love, both the giving and receiving. The captain and her crew make a commitment to the ferry and the passengers. The sad people on the seats fending off nearness, trying to make for themselves a safe space. Giving nothing. Is such a tendency growing? Probably. I agree with your friend that creative acts, no matter how small, are a good response to this. And the gift giving, openness to receiving, like you when the rain came, participatory rain. xx

Thank you Carolyn. Yes, creating is sometimes (often, usually) the only thing that makes sense. I’ve been thinking about trust too, how it is part of receiving, and is even maybe the fulcrum of the fine give-receive balance.

Ah yes, wonderful. Trust as the fulcrum.
